In case you didn’t notice (who could avoid noticing?) it’s Valentines day on sunday. Actually I think the whole concept has become a bit to commercial, but I love the idea about focusing on love, because I’m convinced it’s the most important thing in the world 🙂
So here is a small idea on how to treat your family on the day of love, with delicious red heartshaped waffles.
This recipe is from my beloved grandmother and it’s been my favorite waffle-recipe my whole live.
To make these delicious Valentines waffles you need to mix these ingredients together:
- 1,1 lb of wheat flour
- 0,5 lb sugar
- 3/4 tablespoon vanilla powder
- 1/2 tablespoon baking powder
- 3,1 cups of buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 0,5 lb meltet margarine
- 1 cup of water
- red icing color (how much depends on how good your color is and what color you want it to have)
Heat your waffle iron and put a put of melted margarine on it, add some dough, close the waffle iron and check often, to see if it’s done. Repeat until you used all the dough.
Serve your Valentine waffles with sugar, jam or icing sugar 🙂
